- How will your company differentiate itself from competitors; what are its competitive advantages?
- How will your yoga studio make money (e.g., sales, licensing fees)?
- When will it break even?
- What are some risks associated with starting up this yoga business?
Market and Customer Analysis
What is a customer analysis?
Customer analysis is a critical part of your plan. It would be best if you determined who your target market is and how big the market size might be. Who are your customers? Do they have any special requirements that you need to address to win them over?
Your customers will be interested in yoga, stretching, or flexibility. The ages may range from 25-35 for stay-at-home moms. Be specific, so you attract your target audience when marketing.
What is a market analysis?
You want to look at the overall market size regarding projected revenue, growth rate, and competition. How many people practice yoga in the city or town where you plan to open your studio? How fast is that number growing each year? What’s the average income level of someone who practices yoga regularly (and thus may be interested in classes)?
For example, there are a lot of people in Los Angeles who love to stay fit and healthy. Yoga will continuously grow in areas like that. However, it may be more competition there.
Management Team
The management team should include the executives, yoga instructors, and all key employees involved in your business plan. This section summarizes each member’s experience, qualifications, and education.
You should also indicate their role in helping you reach your goals. For example: if one of your goals is to increase revenue by 10% annually, then you must have someone on your team with experience growing.
Products and Services
If you’re selling a product or service, you’ll have to consider what it is, why it differs from other products, who your target market is, and how much it will cost. You’ll also need to determine the benefits of your product or service – are they meaningful? Can they be measured?
For example, your service is teaching yoga; however, you can also expand into products such as yoga mats.
Then there’s the promotion part. What marketing strategy do you want to implement when launching this new venture? How will you let people know that what you’re offering exists?
You may need to conduct some market research before launching your business. Keep notes on the audience that shares many yoga tips or asks questions about yoga.
In many cases, you’ll have to think about the features and benefits of your products or services. What makes your service different from other products on the market? Why would someone buy yours instead of a competitor? How will you convey this information to potential yoga students?
Funding and Financial Summary
You’ll also need to include a financial statement and a summary of your yoga business’s finances. The statement will show your company’s balance sheet and income statement when you submit it. If your business is brand new, then this will be blank until you start making money.
Make a note of where most of your income is coming from. Is it from selling your yoga service, or is it from selling products that help your client with yoga?

What are the opportunities for a yoga business?

Sales and Marketing Plan
Marketing comes in when trying to get people to know about your business. You might have the best yoga program in town, but that’s not enough to ensure success. It would be best if you also ensured that potential students know about it.
Marketing is creating awareness for your business and selling to customers. It includes advertising, public relations, social media, and more. A marketing plan will help you determine what types of marketing are right for your business and how much money you should spend on each one.
The marketing plan should detail how you’ll spread the word about your yoga business, including:
- The marketing plan should include an estimate of how many students you expect to attract in a month. If you don’t know how many students you need, guess based on what other similar businesses are doing in your area.
- How much revenue do you expect to gain from each student: Your projected revenue will depend on how many students you plan to have. For example, if you plan to attract 50 students per month and each student spends $50 with your business, you’ll have $2,500 in revenue.
- What will be your product or service: This is one of the most important parts of your marketing plan. It would be best if you decided what you’re going to sell and how it will help students solve their problems. For example, how can you help students perfect their yoga poses? - How you’ll get your products and services to your students is equally important: You must figure out how to get your products and services into students’ hands.
